Process Central 2007
Database Server Components |
| Microsoft® SQL Server (2000 or later) or Oracle® (8i or later) |
Process Central requires either Microsoft SQL Server (2000 or later) or Oracle (8i or later). Please see the SQL Server or Oracle documentation for system requirements for these database servers. The database is not required to be installed on Windows® operating systems. SQL Server 2005 is optionally purchased with iGrafx Process Central. Oracle databases are purchased separately. |
iGrafx Process Central Repository Management Components
iGrafx Process Central Server Administrator: creates and initializes repositories as either Microsoft SQL Server (2000 or later) or Oracle (8i or later) databases.
Web Central: a web server plug-in that lets users browse and annotate Process Central repositories using a web browser.
Mail Central: a plug-in service that auto-generates and delivers e-mail notifications of conditions such as voting to-do lists to users of a database. This service requires no client-side installations.
The following specifications refer to the components above, available on the Process Central CD, which are installed on the database server or a computer that has network access to the database server |

| Additional client access requirements when using Oracle 8i or later |
| Drivers |
The Process Central installer does not install the Oracle client-side drivers. If you want to use Oracle databases, you need to install the Oracle OLE DB Provider (recommended) or Oracle ODBC drivers on all machines that are connecting to Oracle-based repositories.
Oracle OLE DB allows connecting to a named database on a specific server or to an Oracle TNS name. If using the Oracle ODBC drivers, you must connect through an ODBC DSN.
The product was tested with the Oracle Provider for OLE DB version 9.0.1.0.1 and the Oracle ODBC driver version 9.00.15. These client-side drivers were tested against both Oracle 9i and Oracle 8i servers. Using other versions of the Drivers or Servers may not work.

| Memory |
256 to 512 MB RAM recommended |
|
| Web Central Client Access |
| Browser |
A web browser is required to access Web Central pages. There is no operating system or machine type dependency. For best results, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or greater or Mozilla Firefox 1 or greater is recommended. No iGrafx software is required. |
| Java® |
The iGrafx Java applet supports Microsoft Java VM 1.1 or Sun® Java VM 1.2 or later. The Sun JVM offers additional functionality, such as dashed/dotted lines and better printing quality. Therefore, for best results, the Sun Java VM is recommended. |
| JavaScript |
For some functionality, such as the ability to synchronize the table-of-contents, the browser must support JavaScript |
